Our standards

The obligations are traditional and the practice is modern, and both are written down here so you don't have to take either one on faith.

Confidentiality and privilege

Your matters are privileged and confidential from the moment the engagement letter is signed. Client materials live in encrypted, access-controlled cloud storage hosted in the United States, with access limited to the people actually working on your matter. We don't discuss any client's identity or their work without written consent first.

Conflicts

We run the conflicts check before we say yes, on every engagement and against every adverse party. If one surfaces in the middle of an engagement, you hear it from us first, and you hear it with options attached.

Insurance

Professional liability coverage: carried, with a certificate of coverage available on request.

Our own security

We protect your information the way we advise you to protect your customers'. Access to client materials is limited to the people working on your matter and reviewed regularly. Every tool that touches client data is vetted before we adopt it. In practice that means multi-factor authentication everywhere, managed devices, a vendor list we can produce on request, and a retention schedule we actually follow.

How we use AI

We use AI in our own practice the way we'd advise you to use it: under a written policy, with an attorney reviewing every piece of work product, and with client confidences never entered into a tool that would retain them or train on them. Ask which tools we use and where they sit, and we'll tell you.

Fees

Agreed in writing before any work begins, with fixed quotes for bounded projects and nothing that shows up as a surprise on an invoice.

Communication

Same-day acknowledgment on anything new, with a substantive reply within two business days. When something can't wait, the escalation path is written into your engagement letter, so you know who to call. Decisions get documented as they're made rather than reconstructed later.

When it ends

Your files, your playbooks, and your templates transfer to you. Our own record retention follows a written schedule aligned with our professional and regulatory obligations, and we'll tell you exactly what we keep.
